Methods that work with Stochastic data
Every method that works with this data type has a page of its own. Those with an academy card are explained here through their philosophy, how to read their output and worked cases; the rest open on their formula page in the library.

Methods with an academy card
5 cards- RankingSMAASMAA does not ask the decision-maker for a single weight; it calculates, as a probability over every possible weight, which alternative comes out first with which weights.Open the card →
- RankingSMAA-2SMAA-2 extends the point where SMAA looks only at "who comes first": it calculates how often each alternative lands in each rank (first, second, last…) and combines these into a single holistic score.Open the card →
- TOPSIS extensionsD-number TOPSISThis is the form of TOPSIS for situations where a criterion value is given not by complete, exact evidence but by a body of evidence that can remain incomplete or partial. It reduces every cell from this evidence to an expected value, and processes the rest exactly as crisp TOPSIS does.Open the card →
- VIKOR extensionsVIKOR-SMAAThis is the form of VIKOR that runs when, about the criterion weights, only uncertainty information is available rather than a single number. Instead of a single compromise rank, it gives each alternative's probability of achieving each possible rank.Open the card →
- ARAS extensionsProbabilistic ARASProbabilistic ARAS is the form of ARAS for situations where a criterion value comes from a probability distribution and this distribution is reduced to a single representative number (for instance, the expected value). The calculation itself is identical to crisp ARAS; only the source of the number that enters the cell changes.Open the card →
